Who Was Man Of The Match? Diogo Jota
Liverpool hammered Southampton 4-0 at Anfield on Saturday, with Diogo Jota scoring the quickest goal of the 2021-22 Premier League season.
It took only 97 seconds for the Portugal international to score, and he added a second goal later in the first half. Thiago Alcantara and Virgil van Dijk both scored goals in the victory.

Andy Robertson set up Jota on the edge of the six-yard box, and he scored early.
Soon after, Alisson was called into action when James Ward-Prowse was on the verge of scoring following a sloppy backpass.

At the half-hour mark, Mohamed Salah set up Jota for his second goal by sidefooting the Egypt international’s ball into the net.
Jota is our Man of the Match today for his brace.

Salah’s assist means he has been directly involved in 25 goals in all competitions this season, which is more than any other Premier League player.
Moments later, Thiago scored Liverpool’s third goal. Southampton appeared to have headed the ball away from danger, but Thiago struck it the first time.

On 52 minutes, Van Dijk scored his first goal in 14 months from close to the penalty spot.
Liverpool has scored 39 goals in just 13 games this season, nine more than any other side. They are a point behind Chelsea, but if Man City defeats West Ham on Sunday, they will drop to third. Southampton is 14th after two defeats in a row.
