Who Was Man Of The Match? Reece James

The Blues finally have their perfect revenge against Juventus this midweek. After the frustrating night in the reverse fixture in Turin, Thomas Tuchel appears to deploy a 3-4-3 formation with a false nine instead of playing Romelu Lukaku as a targetman. He also opts to sideline Mason Mount and include Callum Hudson-Odoi in the line up to accompany Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech upfront.

Such tactic seems to pay off as Chelsea trounced Alvaro Morata and Co 4-0 to cheer up their home fans. Trevor Chalobah opened the scoring through his blasting strike in the six yard box. The second goal had to wait after the interval. Reece James slotted it home after taking advantage of Ben Chilwell’s cross, followed by Callum Hudson Odoi’s goal. The German international Timo Werner eventually wrapped up the goal festivity at last with his late tap into the back of the net.

The right wing back Reece James was named the man of the match in this fixture. His dominance while providing attacking support from the right flank was exceptional. He scored one and was heavily involved at the attacking phase without losing his focus at the defense. He is currently the perfect competitor for Liverpool’s Trent Alexander Arnold in The Three Lions squad for being called up in the world cup next year.

Let’s check out his MOTM worthy stats:
