Who Was Man Of The Match? Rodri

Manchester City beat Everton 3-0 thanks to a brilliant assist from Joao Cancelo and a thunderbolt from Rodri, moving them up to second place in the Premier League, 3 points behind Chelsea.

City finally overcame Everton’s resistance after 44 minutes, when Cancelo’s incredible pass was half-volleyed in by Raheem Sterling on his 300th Premier League appearance.

Rodri’s thunderbolt increased City’s lead 10 minutes into the second half. It is an early goal of the season contender. The Spanish international is our Man of the Match for this game.

Bernardo Silva’s late third sealed Pep Guardiola’s side’s Sunday afternoon stroll to within three points of league leaders Chelsea.

Everton, who were already without prominent names such as Yerry Mina and Dominic Calvert-Lewin due to injury, faced another blow early on when Demarai Gray limped off and was replaced by Alex Iwobi.

Rafael Benitez’s team has only won once in nine matches across all competitions, and they never looked like breaking that run against a City side that cruised through the final stages. Silva slipped in unnoticed and slotted past Pickford to cap off a fantastic day for Guardiola’s team.
