Who Was Man Of The Match? Raúl Jiménez
West Ham went in as favourites against Wolves after their victory against Liverpool prior to the international break, but came out second best as Wolves beat the Hammers 1-0. Raúl Jiménez scored the only goal of the game, and the Mexican is today’s man of the match.
Hammers started the game with a swagger, displaying signs of the third best team in the league. Jarrod Bowen had the best chance of the first half, whose header in the 13th minute was inches wide. Wolves however grew in the game but were unable to break the deadlock, much like the team from London and the first half ended in a stalemate.
Raúl Jiménez finally broke the deadlock in the 56th minute as his low shot from 20 yards beat Fabianski, putting the midlands side ahead in the game.
Wolves went on the backfoot after taking the lead while West Ham dominated possession trying to find an equaliser. David Moyes brought on the likes of Andriy Yarmolenko and Manuel Lanzini to bolster the attacks, but they were unable to find the back of the net, and Wolves got all three points.
