PSG’s dominance on the top of Ligue 1 continued as they beat Bordeaux 3-1 in a one sided affair as the team from Paris turned out to be a handful for the team from southwest France. Kylian Mbappe scored one, and assisted two, but it was the two goals from Neymar, that earned him today’s man of the match.
It was Neymar who scored first for PSG, as Mbappe put up a fine cross for the Brazilian who made no mistake, and fired it home. The two combined again, this time just before half time, as a lovely give and go between the two led to PSG’s and Neymar’s second goal.
PSGs firepower was on full flow today, and they added another goal. This time, Herrera found a ton of space behind the defence. The former Manchester United midfielder set up Georginio Wijnaldum with an incisive pass who ran into the penalty area. The Dutch midfielder drew the goalie off the line, and instead of slotting him home himself, passed to Mbappe unselfishly, who slotted it home.
PSG were up 3-0 by the 63rd minute, and were cruising in the game, until Alberth Elis pulled one back for Bordeaux in the 78th minute. Yacine Adli found a misplaced pass, which he crossed to Elis who brought life back to the home crowd. PSG were on the backfoot for the first time in the game, and Les Girondins scored another one for a nervy finish to the game in the 92nd minute of the game. M’Baye Niang scored the 2nd for Bordeaux after being found in the penalty area by Jimmy Briand. Niang shot in the far corner, beating an outstretched Keylor Navas.
That turned out to be a little too late, as PSG held on, and the referee blew the whistle to put an end to a dramatic game of football.
