Who Was Man of the Match? Reece James

Burnley’s Matej Vydra scored a 79th-minute header to draw 1-1 with Premier League leaders Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Chelsea took the lead soon after the half-hour mark thanks to Kai Havertz, who was filling in for Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner, who were both injured.

Chelsea had controlled possession throughout the game, and Nick Pope was often called upon to make outstanding saves.

On 33 minutes, Reece James floated a cross into the box, which Havertz headed into the goal. James is our Man of the Match for his excellent attacking wingback display. He bagged yet another assist.

Burnley had limited attacking chances, but they only needed one to equalise. They levelled the score in the 79th minute, completely against the run of play, as substitute Vydra headed in from close range after a well-worked move.

This was Chelsea’s first goal conceded from an open play situation this season in the Premier League.

As a result of City’s 2-0 win against Manchester United earlier in the day, Chelsea now leads the Premier League by just three points, while Burnley remains in 18th place.
