Who Was Man Of The Match? Bayern Munich 2-1 Freiburg

Bayern Munich went 4 points top of the Bundesliga, albeit having played a game more, as they beat Freiburg, ending their unbeaten start to the season. Leon Goretzka scored the games opener and dominated the game in a man of the match performance.

Leon Goretzka scored Bayern’s first of the game with the clock striking the half an hour mark. He picked up Thomas Müller’s pass and slid past the goalkeeper giving Bayern the lead.

Freiburg had decent chances of their own but failed to capitalise, both before and after Bayern’s goal. Manuel Neuer did not have a shot to save in the first half.

Bayern Munich took full advantage of Freiburg’s attackers missing their chances, with Robert Lewandowski doubling Bayern’s lead in the 75th minute. He’s not one to be missing chances like the opposition. The Polish striker found Leroy Sane’s pass, who tried scoring himself off Alphonso Davies, but his flick found Lewandowski, who found the net.

Leon Goretzka could have added a couple goals prior to Bayern’s second, but he hit the crossbar both the times.

Freiburg did pull one back, denying Bayern and Neuer of a clean sheet, but Janik Haberer’s late strike proved too little too late, as the Bavarians saw the game out.
