Match Report and Man Of The Match analysis.

Jose Mourinho’s capacity as the top rated manager has been doubted lately. His team are deemed to be lackluster while taking on the high profile contenders. After only sharing spoils against Napoli last weekend, this time Giallorossi suffered a 1-2 loss at home while hosting AC Milan.

Stefano Pioli apparently did not play Brahim Diaz as the number ten role in the line up and deployed Rade Krunic instead. Some other names such as Ante Rebic and Mike Maignan are still sidelined. The game was actually quite even. Yet, Rossonerri seems to be more clinical at the finish.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic had one chance, plus some more from Rafael Leao at the first half and two more at the second half. The visitors had two goals disallowed. Their goals, in fact, both came from a set piece scenario. Ibrahimovic scored through a free kick whereas Frank Kessie scored from a penalty as he often does this season. Roma’s response came too late through Stephan El-Sharawy.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic deserved to be named the man of the match due to his contributions for Milan’s attack. He could have scored a hattrick, should his attempts have not been denied and disallowed. The 40-year old Sweden international shows how the age would not be an issue on the pitch. As long as he stays fit, he always dangerous.

Meanwhile, Roma’s bitter defeat should not have happened if Stephan El-Sharawy, who had the highest rating amongst his teammates in this game, had come off the bench earlier. The former Milan man was effective and posed more threats in the six-yard box than Tammy Abraham. Unfortunately, his late goal was not enough to help Mourinho’s side to even up the scores and pick up a one point.
