Who was Man Of The Match? Malang Sarr
Chelsea has reclaimed the top spot in the Premier League after a 1-0 victory over Brentford, mainly owing to Edouard Mendy’s late heroics.
Ben Chilwell’s spectacular first-half strike proved to be the winning goal as Thomas Tuchel’s team held off a late charge from the newly-promoted side.

Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo struck the post in both halves, while Chelsea’s Timo Werner wasted some excellent chances. Still, Chelsea went into the halftime break ahead thanks to Chilwell’s spectacular half-volley from just inside the area, his third goal in three games for club and country.
After halftime, Brentford started playing good football and had better chances, with Ivan Toney drawing a superb stop from goalkeeper Mendy and Mbeumo hitting the post for the second time.
Mendy made two outstanding saves in the closing ten minutes of the game to deny Saman Ghoddos and Pontus Jansson.
Chelsea won a crucial match thanks to Mendy’s spectacular fingertip save from Christian Norgaard’s volley in stoppage time.
The emphasis was on Chelsea maintaining that level in what looks to be a close title chase after wins for Liverpool and Man City earlier in the day. They did it with their sixth win of the season.
Brentford has lost only twice this season and sits in seventh place after eight games. Malang Sarr performed really well for his team and was selected as the Man of the Match for this game.
