Who was Man Of The Match? Ivan Toney
Brentford have been the team to watch out for since their promotion to the Premier League this season. Having started their season with a 2-0 victory over Arsenal, Brentford now secured a well deserved draw against Liverpool in a thrilling 3-3 draw. Ivan Toney for his continuous attacking, and an assist for Brentford’s opener makes him the man of the match.
Brentford who started the game in the top half of the Premier League table started the game with a bang and scored within the first half an hour of the game. Ethan Pinnock scored the first goal, scoring past Allison with a nice finish off his toe while Pinnock stood on the far post. Liverpool soon equalised as Diogo Jota scored off his head in the 31st minute. The first half ended 1 goal a piece for both sides.
It was Liverpool who took the lead in the second half as Mo Salah scored the second for Liverpool. Salah was judged offside by the linesman, but VAR got involved and reversed the on-field decision. That goal did not change the mood at the Brentford Community Stadium as Brentford went on and equalised 10 minutes later. The pendulum shifted to Liverpool’s end one more time, as youngster Curtis Jones scored a screamer in the 67th minute. The game was into the last 10 minutes, and Brentford continued to knock on the door which they finally broke down as they scored their third, and the game’s sixth goal. That was the final piece of drama of the game as the game ended 3-3.
It was an absolute blockbuster of a game, and both Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Frank appreciated the game as well as the players efforts at the end
