Who was Man Of The Match?  Denis Zakaria

With a goal from Denis Zakaria, Borussia Monchengladbach came victorious against 10-man Borussia Dortmund 1-0 win on Saturday, ending the visitors’ three-game winning streak in the Bundesliga.

Dortmund came to Borrusia-Park without captain Marco Reus and top scorer Erling Haaland due to injuries. This is their second defeat in the league, falling to the fourth position with 12 points, four behind leaders Bayern Munich, as Gladbach won their second game in a row.

After sprinting into the area and collecting a fortuitous deflection to maintain control, Denis Zakaria scored the game’s first goal in the 36th minute, which proved to be the winner. The Swiss international ran the show for Gladbach with an impressive 91.1% passing accuracy. He is our Man of the Match for this game.

Things became much worse for Dortmund when Dahoud was sent off after a second booking, putting his team completely on the back foot. The booking came right after his team went behind.

This was a sad return to Gladbach for Dortmund coach Marco Rose, who had led the Foals for two years but departed to join the Dortmund this season.

In the second half, Gladbach had a succession of golden chances to put the game to bed but were poor in the final third.

Without Haaland and Reus in attack, Rose’s side struggled to create any chances. They didn’t manage a single shot on target in the 90 minutes, slipping to fourth place, one point behind third-placed VfL Wolfsburg. Gladbach are moving up in the table after two straight wins. Now they sit at 11th place with seven points.
