Who was Man Of The Match? Aaron Wan-Bissaka
West Ham vs. Manchester United has never been short of drama historically and today was no different. David De Gea’s last-minute penalty save gives Manchester United an important away victory and keeps them top of the Premier League, level on points with Liverpool.
The game started with Manchester United’s early dominance on the ball. West Ham remained compact and raised the roof of the London Stadium with Said Benrahma’s deflected goal. He had too much time to get a shot away as Bowen slipped the ball to him.
Manchester United hit back with Ronaldo’s equalizer only five minutes after West Ham scored. The Portuguese pulled away to grab Fernandes’ in-swinging cross. Fabianski saved his initial attempt at goal, but Ronaldo was there to score the rebound from a matter of inches.
After halftime, Ronaldo was presented a golden chance to give the visitors a lead, but Fabianski came out quickly and denied him. United looked compact in defence, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka was everywhere for them. He is our Man of the Match for this game.
Ole Gunner Solskjaer brought on Jesse Lingard and summer signing Jadon Sancho. Lingard, who had a successful loan spell at the London Stadium last season, curled a beautiful solo goal into the West Ham net in the last minute.
Manchester United appeared to be on pace for victory, but West Ham were awarded a late penalty. David de Gea saved the penalty against Mark Noble in the stoppage time. A dramatic end to the game!
