It took a 94th minute header from Mario Icardi to win the game for PSG, who had to come from behind to defeat the reigning Ligue 1 champions, Lyon.

The first half ended in a stalemate, but Lyon shocked PSG and their fans at the Parc des Princes by taking the lead in the 54th minute. Lucas Paquetá scored the first goal of the game, as Lyon took the lead. Karl Toko Ekambi surged down the left wing, whose pass found Paquetá, who then beat Gianluigi Donnarumma. An upset was on the cards , until PSG star striker, Neymar scored from the penalty spot. Lyon right back Malo Gusto committed a foul on Neymar in the penalty box, and after a brief VAR check, PSG were awarded the penalty which Neymar converted.

The game was heading to a draw, until Icardi managed to meet Mbappe’s cross, and headed past the Lyon goalkeeper to win the game for his team in injury time.

With the win, PSG strengthened their grip on the top of Ligue 1, and find themselves 5 points clear of second place Olympique de Marseille.

Even with Neymar equalising soon after, Lyon would have liked to come away with a point, but it wasn’t to be. Lyon manager Jorge Sampaoli took the Brazilian player off in the 86th minute, to bring on 19 year old Frenchman, Habib Keita, and the hosts grabbed the winner soon after.
