Who was Man Of The Match? Ivan Toney
Wolves and Brantford have started their campaigns on the front foot. Even though Wolves haven’t gained many points in their 1st four fixtures, Bruno Lage’s men have been an exciting watch this season.
Both managers went with an unchanged team. Wolves started the game brightly and dominated the early quarter without any goals to show for it. This has been the main theme of their performances this season, produce loads of chances without finishing touches.
Brentford, on the other hand, has struggled to create many chances. Only Norwich (8) has had fewer shots on target in the Premier League this season than Brentford (9), who only managed one attempt on target against Brighton last time out.
But today, Ivan Toney brought on his A-game to the party. Toney scored a penalty, and then his pass set up Mbeumo giving them control of the game. Ivan Toney is our Man of the Match.
Brentford (2.7) is the only team with a lower expected goal against number than Manchester City (2.2).
Wolves brought on their summer signing Hee-Chan Hwang at halftime, but it was not enough at the end. Despite the red card shown to Baptiste, 10-man Brantford stood firm and secured a win with a well-kept, clean sheet. Great start for the Bees in the premier league!
