Who was Man Of The Match? Mo Salah

Liverpool met Crystal Palace at Anfield to go top of the table until their title rivals played on Sunday, and they were in no mood to lose their grasp on the title challenge. They beat Crystal Palace 3-0 to go top of the table thanks to goals from Sadio Mane, Mo Salah, and Naby Keita. Mo Salah was a menace for the Palace defence throughout the game, and for his goal, and his overall performance, is today’s Man of the Match.

Sadio Mane scored his 100th goal for Liverpool, entering the record books, and also broke another record of scoring in each of his past 9 appearances against Crystal Palace, while Mo Salah scored his 101st goal for the Reds from Merseyside.

Crystal Palace under new manager (and PL legend) Patrick Viera were solid against Jurgen Klopp’s team for most of first half, and had to thank goalkeeper Vicente Guaita for his performance in front of the goal, but Liverpool finally broke the deadlock just before half time in the 43rd minute. Palace remained in the game until Salah found the net for Liverpool for the second time, in the 78th minute with a sweet strike off his left foot. Naby Keita wrapped the game up in the 89th minute by making it 3-0.

Liverpool are now top of the table after Manchester City drew their game against Southampton at The Etihad, and will hope to stay there until the end of Matchday 5.
