Who Was Man Of The Match? Bayern Munich 7-0 Bochum

Who was Man Of The Match? Joshua Kimmich

Bayern Munich smashed newly promoted side VFL Bochum 6-0 to continue their spectacular run of form, and their place on top of the Bundesliga. The Bavarian side were on top of their powers, and demolished their opponents with goals coming from all over the pitch. Joshua Kimmich scored a brace, and was on top form while he was on the pitch. For that, he’s our man of the match.

Julian Nagelsmann made three changes to the side that beat Barcelona 3-0 in the Champions League earlier in the week, but the changes did not affect the playing style, or the outcome of the game, as Bayern cruised through. Leroy Sane opened the proceedings in the 17th minute, as he found the net with a curler of a shot, beating the Bochum wall, and leaving a furious goalkeeper behind, while Bayern celebrated. Sane then found Joshua Kimmich, whose shot deflected in the net to make it 2-0. Serge Gnabry scored the third, after Thomas Muller found him, who then scored a third past the Bochum goalkeeper. Bayern ended the first half scoring a fourth, this time coming from the opposition itself from an own goal from Lampropoulos whose mixup with his goalkeeper led to the fourth goal.

Bayern Munich had scored four, but Robert Lewandowski was not on the scoresheet still, but it was only a matter of time. The Polish striker scored the 5th goal of the game after Leroy Sane’s ball found him for a tap in. Joshua Kimmich scored his second goal of the game, to make it 6-0, just minutes after Lewandowski had made it 5-0. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, who had replaced Robert Lewandowski in the 68th minute, added to Bochum’s misery by scoring the 7th goal of the game just 10 minutes after he was on the pitch. It was the referee who finally put an end to Bochum’s misery by blowing the full time whistle

Bayern remain unbeaten in all competitions this season, drawing only their first game of the season against Borussia Monchengladbach.
