Who Was Man Of The Match? Erling Haaland

Bayer Leverkusen vs. Borussia Dortmund is one of the top fixtures in Bundesliga and is famously known as a “Prestige Dual” as it always delivers. Today was no different as the game lived up to its billing with a thrilling 4-3 goal-fest and a Dortmund win.

Bayer Leverkusen started brightly, with Florian Wirtz finding a hole in Dortmund’s defence in the 9th minute, giving them an early lead with a very well taken goal. The game had a fierce edge to it.

It was like a Basketball game providing end-to-end entertainment.  Dortmund’s attack sprung back to life in the second half, and they had to come from behind three times with goals from Haaland, Brandt, and a spectacular freekick by Portugal international Raphael Guerreiro.

The game had everything in it, and to top it off, an Erling Haaland late penalty in the 76th minute which some would say was controversial, gave Dortmund the well-deserved lead. It was Haaland’s 65th competitive goal for Dortmund in 65 games, impressive numbers for the Norwegian.

Erling Haaland is our man of the match today with an impressive return of two goals and an assist for Julian Brandt. Borussia Dortmund replaces Bayer Leverkusen to take up 2nd place in the Bundesliga table as they look to challenge for the title this season.
