Who Was Man Of The Match? Burnley 1-1 Leeds United

Who was Man Of The Match? Dwight McNeil

The two clubs’ head-to-head records were skewed in Leeds’ favour prior to today’s encounter. Leeds United had won 15 of the previous 22 Premier League encounters against the Clarets. Burnley’s last Premier League victory over Leeds occurred in 1974, as they prevailed 2-1 at Turf Moor. Fortunately for Leeds, Bamford’s 86th minute effort ensured that this run continued as the two teams drew 1-1.

Chris Wood seemed to have given Burnley their first home win with 4 minutes of the 90 minutes to go however Bamford came to the rescue for Leeds. He must be living on cloud 9 right now, earlier this week he earned his first England call-up, signed a new long-term deal, now he stabbed in Jamie Shackleton’s attempt. A point at Turf Moor, I’d take it.

Even though both teams couldn’t be separated in the end we have to give a special mention to Dwight McNeil who is our Man Of The Match; he led the team in tackles, talk about tracking back. Let’s take a closer look to why he was voted as today’s MOTM:
