Newcastle are looking to improve upon their 12th place finish from last season. The Magpies are hoping that the addition of Joe Willock will help them achieve their goal of finishing in the top half of the table this season. His goal-scoring contributions during his loan spell with the club were crucial in helping them avoid relegation. However the former Arsenal midfielder simply won’t be enough. Steve Bruce will need to sign more players in order to bolster his squad and ease pressure off of Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson shoulders. Given the club’s lack of transfers and squad depth, it’ll be difficult to imagine them breaking into the top half of the league any time soon.
